Body Affirming Movement

Hi! I'm Jazzmine. Not only do I doula, but I'm a yogi. I started my yoga practice in college and used tools from yoga to re-connect, re-member, and re-balance my physical, mental, and spiritual self. I was originally diagnosed with scoliosis and wore a body brace that prevented my spine from curving more as I grew. As an adult, I was suffering from muscle fatigue, compressed nerves, back spasms, overactive pelvic floor, and lower back pain and stiffness. Yoga was my saving grace but somehow I knew it wasn't enough. I found Soma Yoga through Sacred Health after searching for a new practice. Since my training, I've been able to cut back to almost completely eliminating my time in physical therapy. I've seen improvement in my posture and found that my body responds well to the movements I have learned throughout my practice. I couldn't believe I found a practice that models so many of my core beliefs, focus on my body's needs, and helps me lead a better life without pain.

 

I am completing my 200-HR Yoga Instructor Training with Yoga North International SomaYoga Institute. Part of my certification is to offer community group practices that I'll be leading.

The groups will center BIPOC and diverse individuals and families across the country. This space centers and affirms ALL bodies.

 

I've learned some wonderful ways to incorporate movement and self-reflection in pain-free ways. I can't wait to show you. 

What is SomaYoga?

SomaYoga combines traditional yoga, breathwork, therapeutic yoga, neuromuscular re-education, Ayurveda (the sister science to yoga), and personal development/shadow work.

Classes are offered bi-weekly starting March 2022.

Mondays at 6 PM CST - 30 mins {CANCELLED}

Saturday at 11 AM CST - 1HR
